What Does Imago Dei Mean?

Why Classical Education?

Imago dei academy

Opening Fall 2025

Welcome to Imago Dei Academy, a private Christian school in Jasper, AL, dedicated to shaping hearts and equipping minds through a Christ-centered education. Our goal is to teach students how to learn, not just what to learn, and develop independent scholars who treasure Christ and are enabled to confidently pursue a life of learning and accurately evaluate the truth, goodness and beauty in this world, all through a Biblical lens. We are excited to announce Imago Dei is opening fall 2025 at Boldo First Baptist Church!

Why Choose Us

How is Imago Dei Different?

Like-Minded

We seek to support families as they desire to fulfill their responsibility to evangelize and disciple their children. Our family partnerships intend to instill excellence of character and fill our children with Godly wisdom. We believe the family, church, and school all have the same goal; and therefore, we aim to provide an educational environment that facilitates Christian discipleship and where students can celebrate the commonalities of the Christian faith.

The classical model was employed to educate most of the West’s great artists, thinkers, writers and statesmen. Classical education is about equipping and preparing children for the future with what has been proven successful in the past. Students are taught how to learn, not just what to learn, developing independent scholars enabled to confidently pursue a life of learning and accurately evaluating the truth, goodness and beauty in this world. The greatest distinctive of classical schools is the intentional way the subjects and Christian truth are interwoven.
Our Christian mission begins with the desire that everything which happens at Imago Dei be a part of assisting parents in the raising of their children in the discipline and instruction of the Lord (Eph. 6:4) and assisting local churches in making disciples as Jesus commanded (Matt. 28:19-20). An unapologetically Christian education requires that all subjects be taught through the lens of Scripture. There is no such thing as a neutral education. Education is more than just the transmission of information; it requires a spiritual context because it involves the communication of life principles and values. To attempt to understand the universe and all of life’s experiences apart from Scripture will naturally lead many to fail to accurately comprehend reality. The truth of God and His word is the foundation of Christian education and is to permeate every aspect of our goals, objectives, curriculum, and culture.
